President Trump Commends Secretary Schwab on Election Integrity

THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON

October 8, 2025

The Honorable Scott Schwab
Secretary of State
State of Kansas
Topeka, Kansas

Dear Mr. Secretary,

Thank you for using the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) system and for your commitment to safeguarding American elections.

By right and by law, only American citizens may cast a ballot in Federal elections. This is a fundamental principle of our constitutional Republic. The right of American citizens to have their votes properly counted, without illegal dilution, is a prerequisite for our Government to truly be representative. Despite pioneering self-government nearly 250 years ago, however, many States are currently failing to enforce basic and necessary election laws. To reverse this dereliction, in March, I signed Executive Order 14248, Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections, to make the SAVE system free of charge for every state government to use to ensure only American citizens are registered to cast a ballot.

You were one of the first leaders to step up and protect the integrity of our elections by using the SAVE system—and I commend you for your decisive action.

As you well know, safeguarding our elections is a dual responsibility of the States and the Federal Government. This vital mission requires our partnership to be based on mutual trust and a shared commitment to our constitutional responsibilities. My Administration has provided robust resources to all 50 states to fulfill their responsibility in this area—and I expect your state will continue to use them wisely.

Thank you, again, for using the SAVE system to ensure the integrity of our elections. As we prepare to celebrate 250 glorious years of American independence next July, we must continue working together to protect our birthright of freedom and usher in the golden age of America.

Sincerely,

Donald J. Trump
